Winter arrived officiallyyesterday. However, you would have a hard time believing that theweather we have been enjoying over the last several weeks has been anything but winter weather!
The cold temperatures have been building lots of ice on the lake, at last check, there was over 12 inches, and counting. Those lucky enough to find some time to spend out on the lake have been reporting lots of success. Danny, our Ice Fishing Guide has been spending lots of time on the lake. The big walleye so far has been a28"fish caught a few nights ago at about 9:00, in the south bay, about 1/2 mile from the resort. They have also been findinglots of crappie and sunfish in the shallower bays.
Although the early ice fishing is going well, the buzz has been all about the SNOW! We are expecting another 4-6 inches of the fluffy stufftonight, which will add towhat looks like a nice base already on the snow mobile trails. A friend of ours stopped by yesterday after a 50 mile ride and said the conditions are great. With the snow in the forecast, the trails should just get better! In case you are not aware, wehave 500 miles of trails in DouglasCounty,we are in the middle of the 69 corridor on the trail maps, allowing easy access to the trails right out your front door!
We have been so blessed to live insuch a wonderful place, and get to know so many wonderful people. To all of you, our family, friends and guests, we wish you and very Happy Christmas and NewYear.
